Trump says he will only cooperate with impeachment probe after full House vote

President Donald Trump said on Friday his administration is offering Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi an ultimatum: He will cooperate with the impeachment probe only after the House holds a full vote on the matter.

Trump said his attorneys are drafting a letter to Pelosi informing her of the terms. The president said that while he believes the measure can pass the House, the Senate will nevertheless vote in his favor during the impeachment itself.

The House is not required to hold a vote on impeachment before beginning, though in the two most recent impeachments — those of Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton — the full consent of the House was sought prior to the matter advancing.
