FBI verifies at least 50 Samuel Little murder confessions, making him worst serial killer in U.S. history

Samuel Little, 79, has been confirmed as the most prolific serial killer in U.S. history after the FBI said they’ve thus far been able to verify 50 of the 93 murders he’s confessed to committing between 1970 and 2005.

Little was serving three consecutive life sentences in California when he confessed to another 90 killings last year. FBI crime analysts believe all of his murder confessions are credible.

The killer is able to recall each crime with a high level of detail and draw extremely accurate pictures of each of his victims, decades later. Using these details and drawings, the FBI is asking for the public’s help identifying more of his victims.

Little maintained a nomadic lifestyle and targeted vulnerable women, such as sex workers or drug addicts, strangling them to death.
