Formerly transgender woman launches advocacy network for detransitioners

A British woman who previously identified as a transgender man has said she plans to launch a nonprofit group aimed at welcoming those detransitioning from a transgender identity.

After Charlotte Evans — who went public with her story last year — told Sky News that “hundreds” of people also detransitioning have contacted her.

Evans has set up The Detransition Advocacy Network as a support system for those looking to reverse their transition.

Although she did not take cross-sex hormones or puberty blockers and did not go through transgender surgery, Evans argues that puberty can contribute to gender confusion. She said that most detransitioning people who have approached her have been in their mid-20s, female, and same-sex attracted.
