Johnson & Johnson recalls 33,000 bottles of baby powder after asbestos detected

Johnson & Johnson issued a major recall of around 33,000 bottles of its iconic baby powder after a test revealed the presence of asbestos in one of the products.

The testing was conducted by the federal Food and Drug Administration, which had purchased the test bottle off the Internet. The recalled bottles fall under Lot #22318RB.

Johnson & Johnson is also currently facing lawsuits from several thousand women who claim they developed cancer from exposure to asbestos in the corporation’s products. A class action lawsuit last year awarded 22 women with $4.69 billion dollars from the multinational company.
