Thousands of witches to gather to cast mass Halloween spell on Trump

Thousands of opponents of President Donald Trump plan to gather on October 25 for a “mass ritual” to cast a “binding spell” on the president in an attempt to prevent his administration from harming the country.

The ritual, which has been performed regularly since Trump’s inauguration, requires an unflattering photo of Trump, a tarot card, a stub of an orange candle, a pin, and a feather. Participants then call on the “heavenly hosts, demons of the infernal realms, and spirits of the ancestors” to attempt to “bind” Trump.

Michael Hughes, the self-described magical thinker and creator of the ritual, says he views the impeachment proceedings as a sign that the ritual is working. The ritual originally went viral after Hughes posted it on Medium in 2017.

The ritual is performed during every waning crescent moon. This month’s event is expected to draw thousands of participants around the world.
