Forecasters expect 170 low-temperature records to be broken in next week’s Arctic blast

Weather experts say that 170 low-temperature records are likely to be broken in the Arctic blast set to hit the U.S. next week.

The cold front will mostly impact the central and eastern U.S. from Sunday to Tuesday. The Arctic plunge will drop through the northern Plains on Sunday, the Ohio Valley on Monday, and onto the East Coast and Deep South by Tuesday, according to the Weather Channel.

Record lows are expected by Tuesday in the Northeast, Ohio Valley, and the South.

A snow forecast may develop on the East Coast and possibly the South near midweek.
